Requirements

For this setup tutorial, you will need:

  • LINKA device, fully charged

  • Login credentials to the Operator App (provided by LINKA)

  • A mobile phone (Android or iOS), with internet access

  • Access to a web browser on a computer

Creating a New Fleet

All fleets are registered by LINKA on initial set-up. Account representatives will gather the following information prior to registration:

  • Fleet Name

  • Home Location

Account representatives will send an email with login credentials to the Operator app.

Fleet providers can add multiple Fleets to LINKA GO by contacting LINKA for assistance. Each Fleet will refer to a different set of bikes with a unique name, branding and payments, as applicable. Administrators may manage multiple Fleets on Fleetview by clicking on the Fleet drop-down and selecting one of the Fleets created.

Adding Locks to the Fleet

  1. Locks are added to the Fleet with the Operator App. To start, download "LINKA Operator" from the App Store (iPhone) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Login to the Operator app using the credentials provided from LINKA. Then select your fleet name.

  3. Press the left menu, and press "Add Locks". Press “Scan” and press the power button on the LINKA device to wake it up. If the LED on the LINKA device is blinking blue or blinking red, then it is broadcasting. All locks that are awake and not yet registered to an account will be detected and shown.

  4. Option 1: Select the correct Lock from the list by matching the serial numbers, and selecting the serial number from the list Option 2 (only for LEO 2): Press "Scan QR Code" to scan the serial number barcode on the back of lock When prompted, enter a unique 4-digit Bike Number for the Lock. Note: For more information on Bike numbers, see below.

The app will indicate that the lock is successfully paired up. For more information regarding Operator app features, click here.

4-Digit Fleet Bicycle Identification Numbers

Each Bike/Lock in a Fleet will need a unique 4-digit Fleet Number. The system accepts Bike Numbers between 1000 and 9999. The 4-Digit Bike Numbers are used in combination with LINKA GO, to identify bikes and unlock them. Bike numbers are assigned to a LINKA device during pairing with the Operator app, and they can can be changed afterwards in Fleetview dashboard.

Generating QR code

Depending on your fleet needs, you may want the user to scan a QR code to start their rental in LINKA GO. If a QR code is used, the QR code should be visible on the bike. The info represented by the QR code corresponds to the bike number, and is different for each lock. For example, the bike with the number assigned 3555 will have a QR code representing “3555”. Thus each bike will have a different QR code. To create a QR code, go to this website and enter the bike number to generate a QR code for that bike.

Disabling QR code scan

When renting and unlocking Bikes, Users may either by scanning a QR code or by typing in the four digits manually. Optionally, the QR code scan functionality in LINKA GO can be disabled, and users will enter the 4-digit number to start their rental. This functionality can be changed in Fleetview Settings Page.

Basic Fleet Customization

Now that your lock is paired up, open Fleetview on a web browser at fleetview.linkalock.com. Then, login using the same credentials as for the Operator app. Your fleet will require the following customizations:

  1. Create a Geoblock. The Geoblock is an area where users can end rentals, and will be indicated in the LINKA GO app

  2. Customize Branding - Change the fleet name, colors, logo and support emails

  3. Adjust Lock Settings - Adjust the siren tones, the sleep timer, and the cellular modes (LEO 2 only)

  4. Fleet Administration - Grant permissions to additional Fleetview users, setup billing, and change alert/notification emails

  5. Setup Payments (optional) - Connect your Stripe account to enable credit card payments on LINKA GO. When a fleet is first created, payments functionality is disabled, and users can use LINKA GO without adding any payment information.
