Operator App Walkthrough

LINKA Operator App is for Fleet or Rental operators and technicians to manage and monitor bicycles/locks in that Fleet.

i. App Access

Operator app can be downloaded from the App Store (iPhone) or the Play Store (Android)

Fleet operators can login to the app with the credentials supplied either by LINKA or their Fleet Administrator. These same credentials are also valid when signing into Fleetview. To learn how to add additional users to the Operator app, see the Fleetview documentation.

Once logged in, select your fleet that you would like to access.

ii. Pairing Up Locks

Use the Operator app to add locks to your fleet. A guide on how to pair up locks is in the Lock Setup Tutorial:

iii. Connect to a lock (bluetooth)

The Operator app can establish a bluetooth connection to any lock paired up to the fleet.

  • Press "Scan", and the Operator app will show any awake locks. The locks must be within bluetooth range (up to 10 meters). If the lock is asleep, press the Power button on the lock to wake it up. If more than one lock is nearby, shake the lock and the app will indicate the lock is in motion, with a green symbol (1). Click on the device to connect.

  • Once connected, the app will have the following display:

(1) - A circle indicating the current lock state. Slide to lock or unlock.

(2) - Indication of Airplane Mode / Cellular State:

  • Gray - Offline

  • Yellow - Connecting

  • Green - Online

  • Airplane symbol - Airplane mode

Press to toggle Airplane mode.

(3) - Indication of Service State:

  • Red - Out of Service

  • Green - In Service

Press to toggle Service State.

(4) - Settings tab

(5) - Battery and charge indication

(6) - "SYNC" will show within 10 seconds of connecting to the lock. This indicates the settings are updated on the lock.

(7) - Siren toggle button

  • Press on Settings icon on the bottom right to open the settings page. This page will allow for firmware updates, smart fob pairing, maintenance reporting, cellular tracking, and will indicate other lock information including the MAC address:

Updating Lock Firmware

Once connected to a lock, the Operator app will indicate if a firmware update is available on the settings page with "Firmware Update Available". Click to begin a firmware update. The firmware update takes about 1 minute to complete.

Pairing a SmartMotion Key

To pair up a SmartMotion Key, connect to a lock using the Operator App, and press "Smart Fob". Then, scan the QR code on the Smart Fob to pair up.

Bulk Commands (unlock / lock)

Use Bulk Commands to quickly unlock all bikes in bluetooth proximity. In the Operator app, press "Lock All" or "Unlock All". The app will attempt to connect to all devices returned in the bluetooth scan and execute the desired action.

3.- Cellular commands

Cellular option will show a screen with the near devices please see (Figure 15).

Clicking the markers shown will raise a snippet that opens the menu with the available remote commands please see (Figure 16).

  1. a) Unlock: this command will unlock the device sending a remote command.

  2. b) Siren: this command will enable the buzzer of the alarm sending a remote

    command.

  3. c) Tracking: will show the tracking history of the device.

  4. d) Maintenance: this option will allow to report issues related to maintenance

    aspects.

(1) Filtering:

This filter can be used by checking the boxes or type the bike ID and mac address options available (Available,In rental,Maintenance,Low battery, Offline) please see (Figure 17).
