Solar Panel

The LINKA Solar Panel provides a reliable and efficient source of power for LINKA Pro model Locks. It is durable and impact resistant, and is usually installed into a front basket or onto a rear rack with zip ties.

Connect the Panel to the Lock with a the provided Julet connector. Note: Different installations will require shorter or longer cabling, which should be ordered accordingly.

Charging Information

The Solar Panel provided by LINKA allows the lock to charge automatically when outdoors. The charging speed from the solar panel depends on the following factors:

  • Time of Day - Fastest charging at noon when the sun is directly overhead.

  • Latitude and Season - Fastest charging during summer months at lower latitudes, where the sun is directly overhead.

  • Weather - Fastest charging during sunny days with no clouds

  • Shade - Fastest charging when exposed directly to sun and not under shade

Under the best sunlight scenario, the solar panel can fully charge the device in 6 hours. Under an overcast or shaded scenario, the charging speed is significantly reduced. For example, given a cloudy day, the charge rate may be 1/8 of the best case scenario.
