To view all previous rentals, the user can press the “Rides” button on the left menu to open the Ride History page. The user can select a specific rental to see its ride details.
By default, a user can only unlock one bike on each rental. When the multiple bikes feature is enabled, users can unlock more than one bike for a given rental.
To use the multiple bikes feature, first the user can unlock one bike to start their rental. Once the first bike has been unlocked, the user can press on the “+” button (1). The user can press “Add Bike” and the app will allow the user to scan the QR code or enter the bike number to unlock another bike.
Once multiple bikes have been unlocked, the user will have access to unlock and lock all the bikes on their rental. They will be able to select the bike that they would like to control via the popup dialog. To end their rental, the user should lock up and end the ride for each bike individually. Once all the bikes have been locked up, the rental will end. If payments are enabled, the credit card will be charged only after all bikes are locked and the rental has been completed.
Using advance reservations allows the fleet operator to create reservations for users. This feature is in Beta, as the current functionality only allows fleet operations personnel with access to Fleetview to create reservations. Thus the end user cannot create a reservation for themselves.
To create a reservation, press on the “Reservations” page on Fleetview, and then press “Add Reservation. Enter the details of the reservation, including the user’s email, the bike to be rented, and the fare if applicable.
Once a reservation has been created, the user will receive an email with the reservation details. The reservation will show up in the LINKA GO app during the time period of the reservation, and not before. Then the user will be able to unlock the bike associated with the reservation.
Note: The “Advance Reservations” feature is different than the feature to reserve a bike for 10 minutes prior to a rental. A user can reserve a bike for 10 minutes inside the LINKA GO app even if they do not have an “Advance Reservation”. See the “Reserving a bike” section for more details.
The LINKA GO app will record the user’s location while they are on a rental, using the location services of the user’s phone. After the rental is completed, the location coordinates recorded during rental will be displayed on the Trip Details page. The location coordinates will also be visible on Fleetview.
Ride Tracking will only work when location services are enabled on the user’s phone, and when the app is running in the foreground or in the background. Ride tracking will not work when the LINKA GO app is killed.
Ride tracking is enabled for all users by default, but this feature be disabled on Fleetview.
In some situations, the user will be unable to end their rental on the LINKA GO app. For example, this may occur in the following situations:
User phone has died
End ride option has been disabled in LINKA GO (see “Disabling End Ride” below)
On the Fleetview “Rides” page, the rentals will be displayed in the “Ongoing Rides” section. Press “End Ride” to end the rental for a user.
The user whitelist allows you to restrict fleet usage to specific users. Once a whitelist has been created, only the users on the whitelist can access the bikes. All other users that are not on the whitelist will no longer be able to access the bikes.
To create a whitelist, press the “Add User Restriction” on the “Users” page on Fleetview. Then add the email address of the users you would like to add to the whitelist.
The domain name restriction feature allows you to restrict fleet usage to users with valid email addresses. This is useful for fleets inside an organization. For example, if a domain name restriction is set for “company123.com”, then only users with an email address ending in “@company123.com” will be able to access the bikes.
The domain name restriction can be configured on Fleetview. Multiple domains can be added to the list.
When this feature is enabled, rentals will only be allowed within certain times during the day. For example, rentals can be allowed only between 7am and 7pm. This feature can be configured on Fleetview.
In certain use cases, the End Ride option can be disabled. If End Ride is disabled, the user will still be able to lock and unlock the bike with the LINKA GO app while their ride is ongoing. When the user is finished with their rental they would return the bike to the fleet operator, who would then end the rental on Fleetview. This use case may be appropriate for certain bike rental shops, and long term bike subscriptions. In these use cases, the user returns the bike to the fleet operations personnel. Disabling End Ride is a setting that can be configured in Fleetview.
By default the app will allow the user to start a rental by scanning the QR code of the bike. If you would like to only allow users to manually enter the bike number, then you can disable the QR code scan feature. In this case, when the user starts a rental in the LINKA GO app, they will immediately be prompted to manually enter the bike number.
If your company is a fleet provider to multiple organizations, you can create multiple fleets within LINKA GO. Each fleet will be assigned a different set of bikes, and have its own name, branding and payments if applicable. As the administrator, you will be able to manage multiple fleets on Fleetview.
Inside the LINKA GO app, the user will be required to select the correct fleet when they first download the app. If they would like to change the fleet they have selected, they can press on “Choose Bike Share” in the LINKA GO settings page.
